About Laurel D. Rund's 'Art from the Heart'

Sometimes my brush has bristles, sometimes it has layers!

Digital art is a creative process which allows me to express my own unique emotions and visions using tools which are different from those used in the more traditional arts. My artwork incorporates elements from many original art forms. Using a combination of techniques; including pastels, photographs, touch drawings, chalk drawings or mixed-media collages, my work morphs into new digital imagery.

At times I mix color in a painter’s palette and apply it to canvas; at other times I create a color from a web palette and apply it to an image. Whatever the tool, after it is all blended together, my art form comes to life as “Art from the Heart.”
Pablo Picasso said, “The purpose of art is to wash the dust of life off our souls.” For me, my ‘Art from the Heart’ is a poem from my soul.
